Please note the highlights below:
- The ESBCHS Drama Production of Christmas in the Land of Oz will be on December 17 & 18 at 7:00. Tickets will be $2 at the door to the Drama Lab.
- December Spirit week will be next week. Check out our Principal’s Corner for more information.
- A reminder that the last day of regular Semester 1 classes is Tuesday, January 27, 2026. There will be no classes from January 28 - 30, 2026. Semester 2 will begin on Monday, February 2, 2026.
- Grad Photo Sittings Booking Information - An email was sent out earlier today to grads and their parents with more detailed information. Click here to go to the Grad 2026 webpage.
- Graduation photo sittings, which usually take place during exam week, will now take place during regular classes. As such, many grads will need to book their sitting during class times, if they do not have spares. Appointments will run through breaks and lunch hours.
- Sittings are 15 minutes each.
- Photographers will be here from January 20-29, with January 28 & 29 being days with no regular classes running. There is a sitting fee of $31.50 which is payable online while booking the appointment.
- There will be times set aside on January 28 and 29 for any graduate who does not wish to purchase a grad photo package but would like their grad photo to be included in the yearbook. There will be no fee for this photo. Check website for more information.
- Black Gold Parent/Guardian Mental Health & Safety Evening on January 27, 2026 from 5:30 - 7:00pm at the MacLab. Please see this week’s Principal’s Corner for more information.

Black Gold Parent/Guardian Mental Health & Safety Evening
Black Gold Schools invites all parents and guardians to a critical evening focused on student well-being and online safety.
Part 1: Mental Health Symposium (K-12 Focus)
Parents and guardians from all Black Gold schools are invited to attend our Mental Health Symposium. This essential event is designed to equip K-12 parents with valuable resources, information, and direct connections to the mental health services, organizations, and support networks available within our community.
- Format: Open-House – allowing parents to interact directly with various agencies and gather personalized support information.
- Date: Tuesday, January 27th
- Time: 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Location: Maclab Centre for the Performing Arts, Leduc
Part 2: Special Presentation on Internet Child Exploitation (ICE)
Immediately following the Symposium, families with children ages 14 and older are strongly encouraged to stay for a crucial presentation on Internet Child Exploitation (ICE).
Join us to gain crucial information on online safety and to learn more about the realities of children's internet use.
- Presenters: Constable Stephanie Bosch (Edmonton Police Service) and Constable Scott Sterling (RCMP) from ALERT’s Northern Alberta Internet Child Exploitation unit (NAICE).
- Focus: Emerging online risks and practical tips for parents on how to speak to their children about these difficult issues.
- Time: Starts immediately following the Symposium (approx. 7:00 p.m.)
